Welcome.

This is one of several images that keep me motivated while I work on my graduate coursework in Elementary Education in the MAT program at Meredith College. 

This 6 year old child was a student of mine at The Community Independent School, a dynamic private school located near Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  Sometimes I find it very difficult to not be interacting with students on a daily basis, but I know that all of this hard work will pay off and this grad student lifestyle is only temporary. 

This blog is part of my assignment for a course in Integrating Social Studies and The Arts in the classroom.  I hope to continue using this as a place to post my findings, thoughts, and reflections as I begin my journey into the wonderous world of Elementary Education.
